Our Story
I am fundraising for Blood Cancer UK because I has been a patient having treatment for CLL (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia) since 2018.

I am very grateful to the wonderful FLAIR team at Royal Liverpool University Hospital who care for me throughout this ongoing period and the wish is to raise money for Blood Cancer UK Charity to fund ongoing research projects.
The DEE Isolation Challenge was created to support the above charities and to recognise all the people like my 89 year mum Ann and myself who have had to shield and isolate during the last 2 years during the pandemic.

I will sailing in an 18ft Catamaran with my son Cam, unsupported from Dee Sailing Cub set on the Dee Estuary , Wirral to Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland to visit my mum with stops in Anglesey and Isle of Man, distance of more than 150 miles. My mum and I have been isolating from each other a great deal for the last 4 years.
I will also raise money for and liaise fully with the RNLI with respect to safety for the trip.
